Globe-Union had been involved in several electric vehicle projects to test battery theories. The sleek Endura was custom built from the ground up to encompass the size and look of the 80's in a four passenger family wagon.

Six headlights surrounded by the Maxima's sloping hood practically shout electric vehicle. The Maxima was a middle restyles version of one of America's most popular, smaller sized station wagons.
