The Buckeye Manufacturing Company, located in Anderson, Indiana. USA from 1907n to 1915 was founded by John W. Lambert. He made a 3-wheel car in Ohio in 1891 that is considered to be the first gasoline powered American Automobile.

John, his brother and father began building engines in 1893 branded as the Buckeye Manufacturing Company and then to the Lambert Gas & Gasoline Engine Company. their factories were originally in Union City, Ohio then in Anderson, Indiana.

In 1902, he started The Union Automobile Company in Union, Indiana, where he built the Union car from 1902 to 1905 and by them started to use his own name after moving to Lambert, Indiana.
